As the Fall 2022 semester comes to its close, Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation is thankful for all who support AFFCF’s work and the scholarship program. This month, AFFCF hosted events for scholars in Tucson, Phoenix and Flagstaff for scholars to enjoy time together and take a break from the books.

In Tucson, scholars took a horseback ride with beautiful Sonoran Desert Views. In Phoenix, scholars explored the Desert Botanical Garden, including a Day of the Dead exhibit and the butterfly pavilion. In Flagstaff, scholars sought a bumpy adventure on a Pink Jeep Tour in Sedona, spotting two coyotes, a pack of javelinas and a group of mule deer!

We’re also grateful for the donor and sponsor support that allows us to pack 120 care packages for college students to provide extra encouragement for their final exams! A BIG thank you to generous sponsors from the Subaru Superstore of Chandler, National Charity League, Boys Team Charity and members of AFFCF Scholarship Committee: Becky Oeltjenbruns, Mary Ann Penson, Debbie Hall, Alexis Celani and Jen Mozilo. The care packages lets students know AFFCF and its supporters are in their corner cheering them on as they work to do their best

Foster Higher Learning

Donor support allows scholars to have experiences that we often take for granted. By supporting the AFFCF scholarship program, not only do you give young adults who’ve aged out of foster care the ability to chase their education dreams, you also help them give them the opportunity to find friendship with other students who share similar experiences. AFFCF is a Qualifying Foster Care Organization, which means you can receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your Arizona state taxes, up to $500 for individuals and up to $1,000 for couples. Donate today!
