When we first met Starmonica last May, she knew she had not made the best decisions for her life. She realized she needed to make some changes to prepare for her future outside of foster care. Enrolling in Keys to Success changed her story.

As time passed, she became more driven and determined to provide a better life for herself. She had a list of goals to achieve when she turned 18 and she set out to achieve them.

Mapping the Future

With the help and support of her KTS team, Starmonica planned out everything she wanted to happen when she was able to leave her placement. Our team worked with her and helped to provide tutoring services, educational support and more.

KTS also connected her to Foster AZ to help her with housing once she turned 18. With a new apartment, Starmonica had to find a job to keep up with the rent, pay the bills and buy groceries for herself. The KTS team jumped in to teach her customer service skills and interviewing skills. They also made sure she had everything she needed to get and keep a job such as interview clothing, a bike to get to and from work and a cell phone.

Off to a Good Start

Already Starmonica is off to a good start for her future. She only has a semester left until she graduates high school and she has a job so she can support herself. Her ultimate goal is to someday become a neonatal nurse. We know her dedication and drive will help her accomplish her dream.
