When Faith reflects on her journey, she sees how much can change with the right support, determination, and a place to call home.
In April 2026, the 21-year-old mother was working hard to complete her dental internship while caring for her young child. But with reduced income, the loss of a childcare subsidy, and a five-day eviction notice, balancing school, work, and family felt overwhelming. Despite everything, Faith remained determined to finish what she had started.

Finding Stability During a Difficult Time
When Faith connected with Keys to Success, she was facing uncertainty about what would come next. Her housing specialist worked alongside her to explore options for long-term stability, including a housing voucher that would allow her to pursue new opportunities.
Faith was approved for a housing voucher in Flagstaff, opening the door to a fresh start. AFFCF helped cover half of her security deposit and half of her first month’s rent, easing the financial burden of moving. With guidance from her employment development specialist, Faith also worked toward securing employment while completing her internship.
Through Keys to Success, she received additional support with work clothes, car tires, household essentials, and budgeting. These resources helped her navigate immediate challenges while preparing for a more financially secure future.
Celebrating Milestones and New Opportunities
Faith’s hard work paid off when she graduated from her dental program in May 2026. After completing her internship, she relocated to Flagstaff, where she secured a job as a dental assistant.
But her progress didn’t stop there. With a new home and employment, Faith began looking beyond the challenges immediately in front of her and thinking about what she wants to accomplish next.
“I was given good advice on budgeting so I could finally have a savings account for emergencies and finally plan for future vacation.”
With a better understanding of her finances, Faith is building healthy habits that will help her work toward long-term goals. She is even considering continuing her education to become a dental hygienist, opening the door to new possibilities for her career.
Creating a Home and a Brighter Future
For Faith, the most meaningful change has been finding a safe, comfortable home where she and her family can feel secure. What began as a stressful period filled with uncertainty has become an opportunity to build a stronger foundation for the future.
