Brady’s Story

Featured image for post: Brady’s Story

Thirteen-year-old Brady loves basketball so much that his dream is to be a professional basketball player one day. Playing basketball motivates him to keep his grades up and school. With his end goal in mind, he really wants to increase his basketball skills.

Making Dreams Come True

As a kinship placement, his family wanted to support Brady’s dream but they just didn’t have the extra money to pay for basketball registration. They turned to Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation to help with the cost so he could play in the Winter League and do something he loves that could be a pathway to college and career.

In a thank you note, Brady said the following:

Dear AFFCF Donors,

Thank you so much for your donation to AFFCF. You helped me attend a basketball league called Hoop Code. I really like meeting new people that are better at basketball than me and learning new skills from them and my coaches.

Basketball is my favorite sport, but I did not get to play at school, so this is a big opportunity to develop and learn new skills on the court. I am very grateful and happy for what AFFCF and you have done for me…

Sincerely,

Brady

Changing the Story

Being in foster care shouldn’t mean that a child must be the only one sitting on the sidelines. AFFCF changes the story for children and youth in foster care by funding the extracurricular activities and joys that every child deserves to experience.

You can help a young person in care rewrite their story by making a donation to AFFCF. Through the Arizona Foster Care Tax Credit, you can receive a dollar-for-dollar credit on your Arizona state taxes, up to $1,051. You can even count the credit on your 2023 taxes until April 15, 2024. Change the story for a child in foster care…give today!
