Eligibility:
Up to $1,000 for unmet study abroad program costs or 50% of cost of study abroad airfare (up to $1,000).
Documentation:
Study abroad program must be a program that students will earn college credits for completing. Students will need to upload cost documentation that shows the unmet cost on the student account.
Payment:
Student must have the majority of the study abroad program costs already covered by other funding sources. AFFCF funding will only be applied as a final funding source up to $1,000.
For airfare, the student must be able to, after approved, make the entire airfare purchase and submit the receipt for reimbursement up to 50% of the cost.
Paid by check to the institution or reimbursement to student for up to 50% of cost of airfare purchase only after a student has applied and been approved.

- The Gilman Scholarship is a scholarship specifically for study abroad costs for Pell-eligible students. As it is a national scholarship, it is competitive and not all who apply will be awarded.
