CAMPS FOR FOSTER CHILDREN

Eligibility:

AFFCF can consider one request for up to one week of camp per child per year. Request cannot be submitted earlier than 3 months prior to camp date. Requests need to be from a business/organization whose information, services and enrollment/use of services are accessible to the public. AFFCF will not fund family camp or a group home’s self-created camp that uses AFFCF to fund. Group homes can’t submit for all their youth.

Documentation:

Supporting documentation submitted must show vendor name, the dates of the camp and the total cost. Applications for camp are considered on an individual basis.

Payment:

The maximum AFFCF can consider funding for camp is $425 per youth. Once a request is approved, a check payable to company can be mailed or an e-mail will be sent so then the purchase can be made and receipt(s) submitted for payment. Frequency: 1X per year

Resources & Camps for Foster Kids in Arizona:

  • Aspiring Youth Academy – Leadership Camp high school students 14-18 yo FREE.
  • Anytown Leadership Camp – A one-week camp for teens focused on diversity, leadership and empowerment. Anytown Leadership Camp has financial assistance available for those in which cost would be prohibitive. Students that qualify for assistance may be able to attend for as little as $25.00.
  • CASA Council Helping Children of Mohave County – Funds summer camp for youth adjudicated in Mohave county only. Youth does not need to have a CASA.
  • CASA Support Council for Pima County Summer Camp Guide – Funds summer camp for youth whose cases are adjudicated in Pima County only. Youth must have a CASA and camp application must go through the CASA. Calls and inquiries from caregivers are not accepted.
  • Cochise County Council for CASA, Inc. – Funds summer camp for youth. Funding is limited and is for youth whose case was adjudicated and has an open case in Cochise, Graham or Greenlee county only. Youth do not need to have a CASA.
  • Free Arts of Arizona – Provides an arts summer camp for youth/teens for free.
  • Navajo County Friends of CASA – Able to provide funding for camp for foster youth adjudicated or placed in Navajo County (don’t need to have a CASA).
  • Opportunity 4 Kids – Funds extracurricular activities for children in Arizona whose household income is 150% of federal poverty guidelines. Can submit for up to 3 months at a time (if relevant). Check is sent directly to the service provider (not the requester). $1500 max per child/lifetime for all scholarship requests.
  • Run Home Camps – Overnight baseball camp in North Phoenix for boys ages 9-12 who are current or former children living in foster care.
