Eligibility:
AFFCF can only consider funding the bicycle/tricycle category once per child within a two (2)-year period. Scooters, skates, skateboards, and hoverboards are a separate category.
Documentation:
No documentation required.
Payment:
Once approved, AFFCF sends an e-mail to notify the applicant that the request has been approved and for what amount so the purchase can be made and the receipt mailed to AFFCF for reimbursement.
Ages 2-6:
$100-bike; $55-helmet, lock, training wheels = $155 total
Ages 7-12:
$175-bike; $70 – helmet, light, lock = $245 total
Ages 13+:
$250-bike; $70-helmet, light, lock = $320 total
Other Resources:
- AZAFAP – Requires a premier membership ($80). Bike orders are placed in October and delivered in December.
- Bob’s Free Bikes – Provides bikes for any child, 18 yo and younger, greater Phoenix metropolitan area who would otherwise not be able to have one.
- Coconino CASA for Kids – Give bikes to youth adjudicated in Coconino county.
- Jessie’s Closet Foster Children Resource Center – Able to give bikes to youth in Yuma through their resource center when available.
- Navajo County Friends of CASA – Able to provide bikes for foster youth adjudicated or placed in Navajo County (don’t need to have a CASA).
- The Foster Alliance – Can submit a request for a bike as part of Birthday Dreams request 1-2 months prior to child’s birthday.
