Eligibility:
AFFCF can consider funding sports registration such as baseball, basketball, football or soccer. A separate application is required for equipment. A request for a athletic registration needs to be for a business/organization whose information, services and enrollment/use of services are accessible to the public.
Documentation:
Documentation is required beforehand. Supporting documentation must show the company name, total cost of registration, and season start and end date.
Payment:
Once a request is approved, a check payable to the company can be mailed or an e-mail will be sent so then the purchase can be made and receipts submitted for payment.
The maximum amount AFFCF can consider funding is $125/month, three months at a time.
Other Resources:
- CASA Council Helping Children of Mohave County – Funds sports fees and equipment for youth adjudicated in Mohave county only. Youth does not need to have a CASA.
- Cochise County Council for CASA – Able to provide funding for sports. Funding is limited and is for youth whose case was adjudicated and has an open case in Cochise, Graham or Greenlee county only. Youth do not need to have a CASA.
- Every Kid Sports – During open Fall/Winter/Spring application periods, Every Kids Sports pass is open every day after 11 am for Arizona residents. Eligibility: legal guardians of children 4 – 18 yo, currently enrolled in Medicaid, SNAP or WIC are allowed to submit an application. Sport applying for funding must be recreational (not elite or travel) and the season lasts at least 4 weeks.
- Opportunity 4 Kids – Funds extracurricular activities for children in Arizona whose household income is 150% of federal poverty guidelines. Can submit for up to 3 months at a time (if relevant). Check is sent directly to the service provider (not the requester). $1500 max per child/lifetime for all scholarship requests.
