To celebrate the start of the semester, AFFCF invited our scholars to a fine dining experience. The events provided a time for scholars to meet members of the AFFCF Board of Directors and the AFFCF Scholarship Committee, connect with fellow AFFCF Scholars, enjoy a delicious meal and have a professional photo that they can use for academic and professional needs.

AFFCF held dinners in Phoenix (Vincent on Camelback), Flagstaff (Josephine’s) and Tucson (Union Public House). They were fun evenings of welcoming students to the AFFCF Scholarship program, introducing them to AFFCF’s new executive director, Luis De La Cruz and ensuring that scholars know there are many, many people encouraging them as they pursue their education.

To the 79 AFFCF scholars studying at 18 colleges and universities here in Arizona and beyond, AFFCF wishes you the very best this semester!

Fostering Higher Education

When you support the AFFCF scholarship program, you are helping young adults who have aged out of foster care and have had to work twice as hard as their peers to get to where they are. Not only do AFFCF scholars receive financial help for chasing their dreams, but they find a community with other students who have similar experiences to their own. AFFCF is a Qualifying Foster Care Organization, which means your donation may qualify for a dollar-for-dollar credit on your Arizona state taxes, up to $500 for individuals and up to $1,000 for couples.
