I WAS GRANTED A SCHOLARSHIP FROM AFFCF, AND I’M GRATEFUL FOR THE HELP…HOW CAN I “PAY IT FORWARD?”

1.  Write and tell us how the scholarship helped YOU

2.  Consider volunteering your time

3.  Stay in contact with AFFCF, before and after your

     graduation

AFFCF is now of Facebook. Click here.

1. Write and tell us how the scholarship helped you:

  • A note or letter in your own words, sent back to the AFFCF, will help us sustain support from our donors and encourage further contributions so that former foster youth like you can continue to receive scholarships. With your permission, your note or letter will be forwarded directly to a donor and possibly included in our quarterly newsletter. (Your identity and confidentiality will be safe- guarded.)
  • If you are comfortable in doing so, please share some personal information like age, major, favorite class, interests, dreams or career aspirations, and the school you are attending.
  • Notes may be sent on informal stationery or notebook paper.
  • Mail your note or letter to AFFCF, 7200 W. Bell Rd, Suite H102, Glendale AZ 85308 or to send your note electronically Click here

2. Consider Volunteering:

  • A great way to “pay it forward” is by educating the public about foster children & youth, and the Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation Click Here to send a Tell-A-Friend e-mail message
  • Develop your own leadership skills and improve your self confidence
  • Develop your public speaking and/or presentation skills
  • Demonstrate your community/civic involvement when applying for a job, scholarship or grant, etc.*
  • Organize networking groups or clubs on campus offering networking and resource sharing opportunities for other former foster youth

3. Stay Connected:

  • Sign up for your free e-newsletter subscription Click here
  • Join us on Facebook and sign up as member, share your story. Click here.

* For our long-term scholarship recipients, we would be happy to write a letter of recommendation from the AFFCF that can be used for prospective employers.
