Since 1983 we have been promoting the self-esteem and enriching the lives of Arizona’s children in foster care by funding activities, education and other needs that provide them with quality experiences while they live through very difficult circumstances. Click here for our history
Foster Care Facts
- Children enter the foster care program as a result of physical, sexual abuse and/or neglect.
- Arizona has approximately 10,000 children in foster care.
- On average, children stay in the system for three years.
- Children have on average of three different placements.
- Frequent moves in and out of the homes of strangers can be profoundly unsettling for children.
- Many have been separated not only from their parents, but from their siblings.
- Thirty percent of the homeless in America and some 25 percent of those in prison were once in foster care.
- Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation is the only statewide non-profit that provides grants that help to enrich lives and build self-esteem of foster child.
AFFCF Facts
- Awarded over 16,000 grants to foster children
- Funded over $3,000,000 in grants since 1983
- Over twenty-six year history of helping foster children throughout Arizona
- Local Board of Directors with virtually all funds staying in Arizona
- Receives no government funding, relying exclusively on public donations
- AFFCF services are not replicated by any other agency or organization
What We Generally Fund:
You do not need to be a foster parent to help a foster child!
- Volunteer your time
- Make a donation
- Participate in our events
- Include us in your will or estate plan
- Designate your payroll deduction to the AFFCF
- Use our Shop-N-Donate program. We have over 20 businesses that will financially support the AFFCF when you use a special link to make purchases.
