The AFFCF teddy bear logo is a symbol of love, friendship and security.  The symbol of the teddy bear takes on a special meaning for foster children who are often removed from their homes with only the clothes on their backs, and if they are lucky, a few personal items hastily gathered and placed in a brown paper bag.  The AFFCF gives back those teddy bear symbols of love, friendship and security by letting foster children know that someone cares about them.  Just like the teddy bear is more than a toy, awards given by the AFFCF are more than just lessons, bicycles and school field trips, etc.  Our awards contribute substantially to the emotional, psychological and social well-being of these vulnerable, at-risk children.

The hand on the bear symbolizes the helping hand of the AFFCF.  With the support of our community volunteers and donors, AFFCF furthers its mission of providing life enhancing opportunities to foster children that lead them on a road to recovery from abuse and neglect.
