Applying for a General Grant
1. Review the list of items typically funded and not funded by the AFFCF. What We Typically Fund and What We Do Not Fund
2. All purchases must be pre-approved to be eligible for reimbursement, even if they appear of the list of items typically funded.
3. Please consider one of our Preferred Vendors or Shop & Donate Partners when making a purchase. Preferred providers will provide foster children special discounts on a variety of items and services Preferred Vendors. Some service providers will also donate a percetage of your purchase back to the AFFCF Shop-N-Donate program.
4. Collect detailed information about your request (such as flyers/brochures with cost breakdown) for attachment to your application if faxing or mailing mailing. If you are submitting application on-line please scan the document and upload it to the on-line form.
5. Complete an application either on-line or by mailing in a form.
A. APPLY ON-LINE: This is the fastest and simplest way to submit a general grant application for a single foster child. Up to three items can be requested as long as the check is made payable to the same person/vendor. The CPS's caseworker's work email is required for all apllications. 6. Once a caseworker approves the application, please allow 10-15 workdays for the AFFCF to approve or decline the request. Tips for a Faster Response
7. If approved, purchase the item and mail back the original sales receipt to the AFFCF office. A reimbursement check will issued in 4-5 business days.
